United Airlines will increase flights to Europe

United Airlines is planning to boost cross-Atlantic flight capacity in the coming months in a bet that European travel will rebound this summer. The company plans to increase passenger flight capacity by 25% above pre-pandemic levels. It will increase the number of flights to existing destinations, such as London, and add entirely new destinations, such as Spain’s Canary Islands. United said it is anticipating strong demand for flights between the U.S. and Europe, even as high gas prices, coronavirus waves, and the conflict in Ukraine loom unpredictably.
